Oilfield Solutions (OFS) is an Ireland-based energy industry service provider that supplies training, equipment and specialist personnel worldwide. With a mixed workforce of full-time and contract staff and frequent headcount spikes, OFS faced complex licensing needs, fragmented collaboration across time zones, aging on-premises hardware, and a pressing need for secure, flexible IT that could scale quickly.
Working with Microsoft partner EMIT, OFS migrated to a cloud-first stack—Azure, Office 365 (Enterprise and Business Premium), SharePoint Online, Teams and Dynamics 365/CRM—building a bespoke HR/recruitment portal and adopting flexible license allocation. The result: IT support costs fell to about 20% of their former budget, onboarding time halved, roughly $100,000 saved in recruiting, faster project collaboration and device recovery, improved security and visibility, and an IT team now focused on building business solutions rather than firefighting.
