Diversified manufacturer successfully transitions from legacy financial systems

Leggett & Platt, a diversified global manufacturer with 120 facilities and 22,000 employees, needed to consolidate multiple legacy financial systems into a single platform to standardize processes, reduce maintenance, and move from batch-based to real-time financial operations. The planned weekend cutover and the scale of change—affecting about 1,500 users—made strong sponsorship, clear communications, and comprehensive training essential.

Partnering with Microsoft Consulting and the Microsoft Adoption and Change Management team, Leggett & Platt developed a detailed 200-step plan, assembled executive champions and "yellow" and "red" support groups, and used role-based communications and customized training to drive adoption. The Dynamics AX on Azure go-live was successful—payments and cash receipts processed as expected—and the transition team continues to lead ongoing business-process improvements across the company.
