A Microsoft Dynamics 365 Case Study
The National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF) appointed Dublin-based Spanish Point Technologies to tackle a growing challenge: vast, time-consuming waiting list administration across Ireland’s public and private hospitals. The NTPF needed a secure, GDPR-compliant IT system that would provide real-time patient data, streamline status tracking, and enable custom reporting so patients could be assigned to the right care faster.
Spanish Point built PAMS (Patient Access Management System) on Microsoft cloud technologies using an agile approach, and it went live in May 2019. By June, 40 public and 18 private hospitals were using the system; by October PAMS had issued over 30,000 Offers of Care to 41 public hospitals (45% accepted). The result was faster access to patient-level information, stronger data security, measurable reductions in waiting times, and improved operational efficiency.
