Charter Hall Group, an Australian property investment and funds manager with 820 assets under management (around $28.4 billion AUD), set out to modernize its workplaces and shift a paper-dependent, desk-bound culture into a flexible, collaborative New Way of Working. Moving to 1 Martin Place exposed limits in fixed PCs, landlines and siloed communication, prompting a program to improve employee connection, responsiveness and customer experience across offices nationally.

Charter Hall deployed more than 520 Microsoft Surface devices and rolled out Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Teams and Surface Hubs to enable activity-based working, mobile connectivity and richer cross-office collaboration. The technology boost cut a day-long budgeting process to one hour, supported faster integration of new businesses and regional sites via Surface Pro LTE, increased employee engagement by 30%, reduced turnover, and strengthened customer perception and talent attraction.
