A Microsoft Dynamics 365 Case Study

Preview of the AccuWeather Case Study

Big data and cloud technologies safeguard lives and businesses worldwide

AccuWeather is a global weather company that serves more than 1.5 billion people and thousands of enterprise customers, delivering lifesaving forecasts and business insights. Facing rapidly growing demand and the need to act in real time as weather and business conditions change, the company needed to scale its APIs and get timely, consolidated customer and financial intelligence to support hour-by-hour decisions.

AccuWeather migrated its APIs and analytics to Microsoft Azure and adopted Cortana Intelligence and Dynamics 365 (plus Office 365 and other Azure services) to scale, integrate new data sources, and unify CRM/ERP and BI. The platform now handles about 17 billion requests per day, cut business-intelligence lag from weeks toward real time, and delivered concrete wins—stopping trains ahead of a tornado, giving retailers five days’ notice before a blizzard, and improving supply-chain and sales forecasting for clients—saving lives and millions of dollars.
