Auto parts manufacturer installs production line remotely during travel ban with Dynamics 365 Remote Assist

Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd., a Japanese auto‑parts maker with production and sales in 14 countries and 35 hubs, faced a critical challenge when COVID‑19 travel bans in 2020 made it impossible for Japanese engineers to oversee a new Mexico production line. Traditional video calls couldn’t bridge the language and technical gaps needed for equipment fine‑tuning and knowledge transfer, putting multiple new‑line launches at risk.

The company deployed Microsoft HoloLens 2 with Dynamics 365 Remote Assist, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 to share augmented‑reality views, annotate equipment in real time, and support multilingual collaboration. Within two months they remotely launched the Mexico line, saved about ¥2.2 million (≈264 work hours) in travel costs, sped global rollouts (Mexico, Indonesia, Hungary and more), and boosted local engineers’ skills—plans are now underway to expand AR training and Dynamics 365 across the business.
