Australian environmental nonprofit flourishes with deeper data insights

Greening Australia is a medium-sized nonprofit that restores Australia’s landscapes—aiming by 2030 to plant a billion natives, rehabilitate a million hectares, conserve flagship species, restore wetlands and sequester a million tons of carbon. Operating from 30 locations with about 150 staff, hundreds of projects and thousands of volunteers, the organization struggled with disparate spreadsheets and applications and lacked a coherent project-management system and enterprise-wide transparency.

Working with Dynamic Business IT Solutions, Greening Australia deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (including the project module) and Power BI, rolling out functionality in small phases. The new centralized system and dashboards let staff map spatial project data, track projects against financials, streamline operations and enable mobile reporting—delivering unprecedented transparency, efficiency gains and the ability to redirect more funds to on‑ground conservation work.
