Case Study: Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank delivers digital, automated trade finance to underserved businesses with Microsoft Dynamics 365

A Microsoft Dynamics 365 Case Study

Preview of the Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank Case Study

Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank, world’s first trade finance bank, hosted entirely on Microsoft cloud

Anglo-Gulf Trade Bank (AGTB), a UAE-based, digital-only trade finance bank hosted entirely on the Microsoft cloud, set out to close a roughly $1.5 trillion global trade-finance gap by making trade banking accessible to underserved firms. The challenge was to replace legacy, manual, product-centric operating models—paperwork, siloed systems, and slow processes—that limit access to trade finance for small and medium businesses.

AGTB rebuilt trade finance from the ground up using Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365, with Azure Logic Apps, API/ERP integration, automation and advanced analytics—implemented in partnership with Publicis Sapient—to create a client-centric, automated, scalable platform. The result: a faster, data-driven end-to-end bank that cut costs and risk pricing, saved $500 million in the first half-year after rollout, and set the foundation for a broader interoperable trade ecosystem.
