SAGE Publishing, a Thousand Oaks–based academic publisher, needed to replace a sunsetting CRM to support about 200 field and inside sales reps who manage complex sample‑book distribution and long sales cycles across distinct sales divisions. Facing multiple legacy systems, high licensing and support costs, and differing workflow needs, SAGE sought a single, customizable platform that fit its Microsoft .NET environment and would boost efficiency and user adoption.
SAGE deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 (including Dynamics 365 for Sales and Business Central), integrated with Azure and Office 365, and tailored workflows for each sales group. The result was rapid adoption and higher sales team morale, streamlined processes and reporting, a unified, secure view of customers, reduced IT overhead, and the company’s strongest sales year following the rollout.
