A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
Yokosuka City Yokosuka General High School in Japan wanted to strengthen ICT-based education while solving the limitations of bulky, hard-to-carry laptops for students and teachers. Working with Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft Surface devices, the school sought a more portable, practical 2-in-1 solution that would better support classroom use, home learning, and Microsoft Office compatibility.
Microsoft Corporation implemented Surface Pro 3, later followed by Surface Pro 4, giving students and eventually teachers lightweight Windows tablets with long battery life and keyboard input. The result was wider device use in class and at home, more efficient digital lessons and assessments, faster intranet communication, and fewer cable and portability issues; for example, English pronunciation tests were digitized using audio files, helping improve evaluation efficiency and expand practical learning opportunities.
