Yaqut, a Jordan-based Arabic e-book publisher, sought a highly available and scalable cloud solution to support its fast-growing mobile app and handle many concurrent user requests with minimal downtime. The challenge was to ensure a superior user experience for its readers by providing ultra-fast text opening and reliable service. The company turned to Microsoft and its Azure infrastructure as a service to build this robust backend.

By implementing a solution using Microsoft Azure's IaaS features, Yaqut gained a platform with excellent integration for its open-source technologies, including Linux, NGINX, PHP, and MySQL. The solution, supported by the Microsoft BizSpark program, provided the scalability and performance needed, resulting in impressive growth to 440,000 registered users and 180,000 monthly unique users, with a goal of reaching one million users by year-end.
