VHV Allgemeine Versicherung AG, a German insurer, wanted to improve customer contact and support its existing communication and sales channels by testing chatbot technology. Working with Microsoft Corporation through Microsoft Consulting Services, the company set out to explore whether a bot could answer product questions at the point of sale and potentially improve conversion and customer engagement.
Microsoft Corporation helped VHV build and launch the chatbot “Mia” in just a few weeks using Azure Search, Dynamics 365 for Customer Service, Microsoft Bot Framework, Microsoft Cognitive Services, and related tools. After a soft launch and iterative improvements, the bot went live on the product page, showed very positive access figures, and maintained a low error rate, while also increasing user acceptance and providing more information to customers.
