Van Lanschot, the oldest financial institution in the Netherlands, needed to give its increasingly digital-savvy private banking clients more ways to interact with the firm without losing its personal service model. The company wanted to launch a new omnichannel, client-centric platform quickly, and it turned to Microsoft Corporation, using Microsoft Azure and Visual Studio Team Services, to support the effort.
Microsoft Corporation helped Van Lanschot build a mobile-first, web-based client platform on Azure, supported by services like Azure API Management, Azure App Service, and Azure Application Gateway. The new solution went live in about 5 months—roughly 50% faster than the bank’s usual 9–12 month timeline—while also enabling agile, in-house DevOps development, better scalability, and secure access to portfolio and account data across digital channels.
