A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, works in 134 countries but was held back by outdated technology, unreliable connectivity, and slow device setup in harsh field conditions. The agency needed a way to help first-line workers in places like Ethiopia respond faster, collaborate better, and better protect sensitive refugee data. Microsoft Corporation supported the shift to Microsoft 365, including Windows 10 and Microsoft Intune.
With Microsoft Corporation’s help, UNHCR deployed cloud-based tools and field-first device management to speed up provisioning, automate updates, and improve security. Staff can now set up new computers in about 30 minutes, more than six times faster than before, and future Windows Autopilot use is expected to get devices ready in about 40 minutes. The result is faster service delivery, lower support burden, improved protection of beneficiary data, and tens of thousands of dollars in expected connectivity savings.
