A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
The Tucson Unified School District was struggling with a crumbling, outdated technology infrastructure and inefficient, paper-based processes that hindered collaboration and consumed its limited budget. Facing a need to provide equitable access to technology for its 46,000 students, Chief Technology Officer Scott Morrison sought to do more with less and partnered with Microsoft to implement solutions including Office 365 and Windows 10.
By adopting Microsoft's Azure cloud services, Intune, and Office 365, the district modernized its operations, moving away from on-premises servers to a more efficient, cloud-based model. This digital transformation, supported by a grassroots teacher-to-teacher training approach, slashed the district's technology spending in half. The results included significant budget control, reinvestment into the classroom, and, most importantly, a more personalized and engaging learning experience for students, empowering them with the technology used in the modern enterprise world.
