The solution involved creating a massive infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) environment on Microsoft Azure, which included over 100 Azure Virtual Machines to host critical applications like Oracle JD Edwards and Hyperion. This allowed TRI Pointe to meet its acquisition deadline and gain boundless, flexible scalability for future growth. By outsourcing its infrastructure to Microsoft, the company can now focus on its core business of building homes while Microsoft manages the servers, providing cost-effective disaster recovery and the ability to instantly adjust IT resources.
