Case Study: Marco Polo Network achieves modernized trade finance with Microsoft Corporation and Azure

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Marco Polo Network Case Study

The Marco Polo Network uses Azure and Corda blockchain to modernize trade finance

Marco Polo Network, a TradeIX-built trade finance platform, faced the challenge of replacing slow, paper-based, disconnected trade and supply-chain financing processes that made onboarding, reconciliation, and cash-flow management costly and difficult across global markets. Using Microsoft Azure alongside R3’s Corda blockchain, the network was built to help banks, buyers, sellers, and logistics partners share trade data securely in real time.

Microsoft Corporation helped implement the cloud-based platform with security and monitoring services such as Azure Log Analytics, Azure Security Center, Azure Application Gateway, and Azure DDoS Protection, plus Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations integrations. The result was a more transparent, automated trade finance network that improves efficiency and customer experience; in one transaction, logistics data was automatically matched and payment was triggered across multiple banks, showing the platform’s ability to reduce manual reconciliation and streamline operations.
