The Department of Health and Human Services embarks on a Connected Working Program to better serve the people of Victoria, Australia

The Victoria Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), a large government body in Australia, faced challenges with outdated technology that hindered communication and collaboration among its 11,500 dispersed employees. To better serve the people of Victoria, the department partnered with Microsoft Corporation and its Microsoft Services Adoption and Change Management team to migrate from Lotus Notes to Office 365 and foster a new culture of connected work.

Microsoft implemented a comprehensive adoption and change management program, focusing on solving staff problems with new ways of working instead of simply rolling out technology. This included tailored communications, training, and an early adopter program for Microsoft Teams. The solution drove significant results, including a 12% reduction in email usage, the creation of over 1,500 teams, and widespread adoption of modern tools that gave staff more time for their core work, making them more productive and flexible.
