juwi Group, a renewable energy developer and operator in Germany and internationally, needed better visibility into the future condition of its wind farms—not just their current status—to reduce costly failures, improve uptime, and stay competitive. The company was using SCADA monitoring, but wanted a more predictive approach and chose Microsoft Corporation’s Azure platform with Resolto Prognos for predictive analytics.

Microsoft Corporation helped juwi Group implement Prognos on Microsoft Azure to analyze real-time and historical plant data, predict failures in advance, and send maintenance alerts to technicians. The result was an estimated 0.5% increase in uptime, about €500,000 in additional annual income, and lower maintenance and logistics costs; juwi also expected to scale its business and expand the solution across more wind turbines without significantly increasing field staff.
