The Canadian Real Estate Association delivers a better house-buying experience in the cloud

The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), which runs REALTOR.ca, needed a way to keep Canada’s busiest real estate website fast and always available during seasonal traffic spikes while also speeding up feature releases and listing updates. Microsoft Corporation, using Azure and services like Azure App Service and Azure Application Insights, was selected to help CREA move from its local datacenter to the cloud.

Microsoft Corporation implemented an Azure-based, active-active architecture across two datacenters with scalable compute, storage, networking, and monitoring. The result was record uptime of 100% for the past year, the ability to post new listings in near real time, and an estimated 25% reduction in infrastructure costs, while also giving CREA more agility to innovate and support future analytics modernization.
