Tencent updates web and mobile payment infrastructure for better scalability and agility

Tencent FiT, a division of Tencent, needed to modernize its web and mobile payment infrastructure to support rapid business growth and reduce duplicated APIs, code, and maintenance effort. Using Microsoft Corporation products including .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, .NET Framework, and Windows Server 2016 Standard, the team sought a more scalable and agile back-end architecture for its payment settlement services.

Microsoft Corporation helped Tencent implement a unified Settlement API gateway and move toward a microservice-based design across a mixed Windows and Linux environment. The new architecture improved maintainability, flexibility, and development speed, and Tencent reported it could handle its initial target of 20 million requests per day in production while making services more reliable, scalable, and efficient.
