A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
The City of Tel Aviv aimed to transform into a smart city to improve government operations and citizen engagement, overcoming a perception of being bureaucratic and distant. To realize this vision, the city partnered with Microsoft and its CityNext initiative, utilizing technology including the Microsoft Azure cloud platform and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online to build a new digital foundation.
Working with Microsoft, the city developed the DigiTel platform, which includes a mobile app and a personalized Residents Club for proactive communication and services. This solution significantly increased citizen satisfaction and engagement, with the Residents Club attracting 160,000 members. The project's success led to Tel Aviv being named the "Best Smart City in the World" in 2014.
