Technology empowers PhilHealth to reach more Filipinos

PhilHealth, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, needed a better way to manage rapidly growing membership and claims data as its existing systems could not keep up. To support its mandate of universal health coverage, PhilHealth turned to Microsoft Corporation and its Power BI platform to create a single, more reliable view of data for better decision-making and program planning.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Power BI to connect PhilHealth’s 17 regional offices and turn historical reports into actionable insights. The result was improved understanding of member needs, expanded primary care access across 15 regions, and stronger coordination with government partners; the solution also helped PhilHealth move from reacting to past trends toward planning preventive care and better serving poor and vulnerable Filipinos.
