Supporting Public Education Policies with Microsoft Power BI, Machine Learning with Cortana

The customer, Centro de Investigación Avanzada en Educación (CIAE) from the University of Chile, alongside the Territorial Intelligence Center (CIT) from the Adolfo Ibáñez University, faced the challenge of understanding the external, territorial factors influencing educational outcomes in Chile. They needed to move beyond traditional classroom data to publish a complete picture for public policy makers, requiring a platform for complex geographical and predictive analysis without having to build their own server infrastructure.

The solution was implemented using Microsoft technology, specifically Power BI, Machine Learning, and Cortana Analytics. Microsoft provided the cloud-based tools for data processing, visualization, and analysis, allowing the team to focus on generating evidence instead of technology development. The results included the creation of one of the most complete platforms for educational diagnosis and public policy making in the sector. The project gained significant exposure through Microsoft, successfully reaching its target audience of decision makers and securing continuity and a new phase of work with the Chilean Ministry of Education to guide the national Educational Reform.
