Sulekha uses Azure DocumentDB to connect customers and businesses across India

Sulekha, one of India’s largest digital platforms connecting customers with local businesses, faced growing data and scalability challenges as its on-premises infrastructure could not keep up with more than 358,000 JSON documents generated daily and millions of monthly visits. To modernize its architecture and support rapid application development, Sulekha turned to Microsoft Corporation and used Azure DocumentDB as part of its cloud migration.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Azure DocumentDB to give Sulekha a flexible JSON-based data model, SQL-style querying, and low administrative overhead. The result was faster development cycles, easier scaling for peak demand, improved availability and security, and strong support from Microsoft Corporation. Sulekha now handles 35 million unique visits per month, around 20,000 leads and 358,000 documents per day, while supporting weekly product launches and peak traffic of more than 36 hits per second.
