Case Study: 2Enable achieves nationwide digital education access with Microsoft Corporation Azure and Office 365

Striving to enable better education for students in South Africa

2Enable is a South Africa-based nonprofit focused on delivering free, quality digital education nationwide, originally rooted in the Casterbridge Music Development Academy. To grow beyond music training and secure more funding, it needed a way to expand its e-learning platform into math and science and support use in schools across the country. Microsoft Corporation helped 2Enable with Microsoft Azure and Office 365.

Microsoft Corporation implemented an Azure grant to scale the 2Enable platform and support its national rollout, while Office 365 improved collaboration and data sharing across the organization. The results included about 6,000 registered online users, 6,000 app downloads, digital libraries in more than 70 schools, and planned expansion to roughly 54,000 teachers in the Eastern Cape. 2Enable also used Skype for Business to deliver 14 hours of live, country-wide support per week in 2016.
