Case Study: Tasmanian State Government achieves a cloud voucher program launch in just two months with Microsoft Corporation

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Tasmanian State Government Case Study

State government delivers its first cloud solution in just two months with help from Unified Support

The Tasmanian State Government, through its Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPAC), needed a fast way to launch the Ticket to Play program and build a public-facing cloud voucher solution to help more children participate in club sports. After unsuccessful searches for an off-the-shelf option, the team turned to Microsoft Corporation, using Azure, Power BI, Microsoft Services, and Unified Support to close its cloud skills gap and move quickly.

Microsoft Corporation helped DPAC with onsite Azure Modern Apps training, technical guidance, and support setting up the cloud environment. The solution went from development to pilot in two months and launched within a few more months, reaching nearly 3,000 registrations in days and issuing 5,024 vouchers by the end of May; in its first six months, over 5,000 students used vouchers to join sports clubs.
