Case Study: Element Analytics helps industrial companies predict equipment failures with Microsoft Azure

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Element Analytics Case Study

Startup offers predictive analytics to industries using scalable cloud platform

Element Analytics, an industrial analytics software company, faced the challenge of helping industrial companies interpret massive amounts of messy and disparate operational data from various IT and OT sources. This data was difficult to clean and prepare for the predictive analytics needed to make data-guided decisions for more efficient operations. They turned to Microsoft Azure cloud services to build their solution.

Using the Microsoft Azure platform, Element Analytics deployed its Element Platform to rapidly ready industrial data and create machine learning models. In a deployment for a large oil and gas company, this Microsoft-based solution successfully predicted equipment failures. This enabled the customer to avoid significant revenue loss by reducing pump downtime from an average of 30 days and cutting operations and maintenance costs.
