Sri Lankan freight operator boosts communication and collaboration with move to cloud-based productivity suite

CL Synergy, a Sri Lankan freight and logistics operator, was under pressure to maintain high service standards while dealing with an outdated file server, manual document emailing, frequent server outages, and no effective complaint-tracking system. To improve communication and collaboration, the company chose Microsoft Corporation’s Office 365, supported by partner WebQuarters, to move its operations to the cloud.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Office 365 with SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Skype for Business, and other cloud tools, migrating teams gradually and replacing the old file server with a centralized document repository. The results included better collaboration, version control, anywhere access, improved transparency, and significant cost savings by reducing licensing, server, backup, and disaster recovery expenses; CL Synergy also noted that buying traditional licenses would have cost the equivalent of six years of Office 365 subscriptions.
