A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
XOS Digital, a sports technology company serving NFL teams and other major sports organizations, faced the challenge of modernizing a paper-intensive and inefficient workflow for coaches and analysts. Their processes relied on physical binders, stacks of DVDs, and manual whiteboards, which made tasks like game analysis, player recruitment, and draft preparation slow and cumbersome. To address this, XOS Digital partnered with Microsoft Corporation, leveraging a suite of its technologies including Microsoft Azure, Surface tablets, and OneNote.
The solution implemented by Microsoft involved an end-to-end platform built on Microsoft Azure, which integrated with Surface and Perceptive Pixel devices. This allowed for near-real-time game uploads, digital note-taking synced to the cloud, and fully digitized draft boards. The results were transformative: NFL teams could access full HD game videos within two hours, one team increased its output of critical "Point of Attack" recruitment tapes from 10 to nearly 300 per week, and analysts regained hours of productive time on travel days. Microsoft's technologies provided the scalable, portable, and efficient solution that fundamentally improved how sports teams operate.
