A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
OpenText, a Canadian enterprise information management company, required a more efficient way to run complex, resource-intensive software demonstrations for its sales process. Their existing on-premises infrastructure was difficult to manage, suffered from latency issues, and was incapable of running demanding applications like SAP HANA effectively for global demos. They turned to partner Microsoft Corporation to utilize the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to solve this challenge.
By implementing a solution using SAP HANA on Azure alongside other Azure services, Microsoft provided OpenText with a scalable, high-performance demo environment. This allowed OpenText to set up global demos in minutes instead of days, dramatically improving performance and sales effectiveness. The move to Microsoft Azure also resulted in significant cost savings through a consumption-based model, with one proof of concept costing only $800 to support a $10 million sale.
