Smart Factories introduces tomorrow's innovators to Industry 4.0

Smart Factories, a Swedish manufacturing education initiative, needed a way to raise awareness of industrial digitalization and the skills required for Industry 4.0. Working with Microsoft Corporation, the project used Azure Cloud Services, Azure IoT Hub, and HoloLens to create a modern, hands-on factory experience that connects higher education with industry.

Microsoft Corporation helped Smart Factories build a platform showcasing AI, IoT, VR, and mixed reality in a supervised factory setting. The result was a practical bridge between education and industry that increased understanding of Industry 4.0 and helped make technology careers more attractive, supporting Sweden’s broader push to grow industrial jobs and digital competence.
