Skövde municipality saves 2.2 million SEK while improving outcomes for Swedish students

Skövde kommun, the Swedish municipality responsible for managing complex school logistics and budgets across its K-12 system, needed a better way to balance costs, staffing, and legal requirements while improving student outcomes. Working with Microsoft Corporation and its Azure-based solution through partner Stratsys, the municipality sought greater visibility into teacher allocations, subject hours, and budget planning.

Microsoft Corporation helped Skövde kommun implement Stratsys Resource Planning on Azure, enabling centralized resource planning, compliance tracking, and easier scheduling. The results included a 2.2 million SEK budget reduction in under a year, about two days of work saved on daily schedules, and improved transparency and collaboration among principals and staff, with additional savings of more than 1 million SEK expected the following year.
