A Microsoft Corporation Case Study
Sega Sammy Group, a large Japan-based entertainment company, wanted to break down organizational barriers after moving to a new wall-less headquarters in Tokyo. The company had been using multiple communication tools across teams, which made collaboration difficult and raised security concerns. To support a group-wide communication platform, Sega Sammy Group turned to Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft Teams, along with existing Office 365 services.
Microsoft Corporation helped Sega Sammy Group roll out Teams in stages, starting with the Development Division and then expanding through training, quick guides, and internal communities. The results were strong: more than 50% of staff in major group companies adopted Teams within a little over a year, usage in some divisions reached 80% to 90%, and over 600 people began using it after information sessions. Microsoft Corporation’s solution also improved communication density, reduced the need for in-person meetings, and made it easier to launch and manage projects across the group.
