Case Study: Vale do Tamel School empowers students with twenty-first-century skills using Microsoft Corporation Office 365

School in Portugal teaches twenty-first-century skills by making computer programming fun

Vale do Tamel School in northern Portugal wanted to use technology to improve teaching and help students build stronger skills in math, science, logic, teamwork, creativity, and problem solving. Working with Microsoft Corporation and using Office 365, the school set out to make computer programming a fun, low-cost gateway to core subjects and twenty-first-century learning.

Microsoft Corporation helped Vale do Tamel implement the All Aboard project using Office 365 cloud services, Microsoft Surface devices, OneNote, OneDrive, Skype, Sway, Office Mix for Education, and Visual Studio. The program grew from about 150 students to 500 in two months, with a goal of 1,000 by the end of the school year, and the school also earned recognition as a Microsoft Showcase School.
