Case Study: Cleveland City School District improves classroom collaboration and student safety with Microsoft cloud solutions

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Cleveland City School District Case Study

School district uses cloud technologies to create a safe, smart space for learning

The Cleveland City School District sought to enhance learning management in its elementary schools and provide younger students with the tools of Office 365, but was challenged by manual data entry for teachers and safety concerns over providing full email access. To address this, the district worked with Microsoft Corporation to utilize Microsoft School Data Sync and Azure Active Directory.

Microsoft's solution automated the syncing of student roster data from the district's information system into Office 365 and Microsoft Classroom. This integration eliminated manual administrative work for teachers, provided a safe digital environment for elementary students by restricting external email, and enabled single sign-on. The results included increased teacher productivity, more time for student instruction, and a seamless technology adoption that allowed the IT staff to focus on more strategic support.
