School board accommodates more learning styles with new mobile computing platform

The Calgary Board of Education (CBE), a large public school district, sought to personalize learning for its diverse student body by ensuring equal access to a varied set of technology tools. Their challenge was to implement a digital transformation within a heterogeneous IT environment that could accommodate different learning styles and prevent technology abandonment. To address this, they worked with Microsoft Corporation to adopt new Windows 10 devices and services.

By implementing Microsoft's Windows 10 platform, Surface Pro devices, and Office 365, the solution provided flexible input and collaboration tools that engaged different types of learners. Microsoft's technology also streamlined device management and enhanced security through System Center Configuration Manager. The results included increased student engagement, improved learning outcomes with concrete evidence of higher achievement, and simplified IT management for approximately 22,000 devices, all while providing built-in accessibility features at no extra cost.
