Schneider Electric, a global energy management and automation solutions provider, faced the challenge of efficiently monitoring and managing remote equipment to bring sustainable and affordable energy to the 1.2 billion people living without reliable electricity. They sought a scalable, flexible global platform that could also adapt to specific local requirements. To address this, they partnered with Microsoft and utilized the Microsoft Azure IoT Suite and Cortana Intelligence Suite.

The solution involved building the EcoStruxure.io IoT platform on Microsoft Azure. This implementation allowed for diverse projects, from monitoring solar plants in Nigeria to optimizing home thermostats. Microsoft's technology enabled real-time insight, predictive maintenance, and powerful analytics. As a result, Schneider Electric improved energy efficiency, extended sustainable energy access to remote communities and schools, and helped consumers reduce their energy consumption by up to 13 percent.
