A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the New South Wales - Department of Education Case Study

Scaling STEM education in one of the world’s largest school jurisdictions

New South Wales - Department of Education faced the challenge of making STEM education more engaging and relevant for 800,000 students across about 2,250 schools, while also helping teachers connect technology students already enjoy with real-world science, math, and future careers. The department turned to Microsoft Corporation, using tools such as Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Intune, Windows 10, and Minecraft: Education Edition to support a more modern STEM curriculum.

Microsoft Corporation helped the department build shared resource libraries, improve teacher collaboration, and deploy simple, reliable technology across schools regardless of their existing digital capacity. The program increased teacher confidence and student engagement, enabled consistent access to STEM tools through preconfigured devices and kits, and helped “lift the bar” across the state by making high-quality STEM learning more equitable and scalable.
