SA Power Networks energizes its workforce, improves safety with a digital strategy and Microsoft 365

SA Power Networks, South Australia’s electricity distributor, needed a better way to break down silos across its widely dispersed depots and improve safety, emergency coordination, and day-to-day collaboration for field workers. Working with Microsoft Corporation, the company adopted Microsoft 365 tools such as Teams, Yammer, Intune, and Surface Go to support a digital workplace transformation.

Microsoft Corporation implemented Microsoft Teams as a central collaboration hub for switching mentors, emergency response, and safety information sharing, while Yammer connected remote workers across the state. The result was faster real-time communication, stronger safety practices, and better operational coordination; notably, SA Power Networks reported zero switching incidents in the year after the Teams-based mentor program launched, and also improved compliance, device management, and delivery timelines for major projects.
