Romanian manufacturing process specialist helps its global clients using the power of Microsoft Azure

GSX Value Chain, a Romania-based manufacturing consultancy focused on spare parts materials management for global Tier 1 manufacturers, needed to scale a smart algorithm used for internal production and spare parts optimization. Its key “search” process was taking four to six hours per day, creating a performance and efficiency bottleneck. GSX Value Chain used Microsoft Azure, including Microsoft Azure Database for MySQL, with support from Microsoft partner Zitec.

By moving the solution to Microsoft Azure, GSX Value Chain cut the search process down to 15 minutes, improving performance, flexibility, transparency, and cost control through autoscaling. Microsoft Corporation’s cloud platform helped GSX serve major clients like British American Tobacco more effectively, supporting inventory reductions and contributing to measurable business value, including up to $62 million in potential cash release and more than $12 million already returned to BAT’s P&L.
