Case Study: Rolls-Royce achieves new digital capabilities with Microsoft Corporation

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Rolls Royce Case Study

Rolls-Royce and Microsoft collaborate to create new digital capabilities

Rolls-Royce, a global aircraft engine manufacturer and service provider, faced a growing challenge from the explosive volume and variety of engine and flight data generated across its fleets. To keep improving maintenance and fuel efficiency, it needed a scalable way to aggregate, analyze, and turn this data into actionable insights for airlines. Microsoft Corporation provided the cloud foundation for this effort through Azure services such as Azure IoT solution accelerators, Azure Active Directory, and Azure App Service.

Microsoft Corporation helped Rolls-Royce build a digital analytics platform on Azure to collect data from multiple sources, detect anomalies, and support better maintenance and operational decisions. Using tools like Microsoft Cortana Intelligence Suite and Power BI, Rolls-Royce can now model data at scale, create reports faster, and deliver targeted insights that may reduce aircraft-on-ground time and improve fuel performance. The result is a more scalable, insight-driven TotalCare service designed to help airlines lower costs and improve efficiency.
