Risk manager reduces its own risks by protecting data in the cloud

Risk Management Solutions (RMS), a global insurance risk modeling and data analytics firm, needed a more secure and scalable way to host its software and protect customer data in the cloud. Working with Microsoft Corporation, RMS chose Azure as its cloud hosting platform and used services including Azure Site Recovery, Azure Storage, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Network, and Azure DevTest Labs to support its modeling, development, and disaster recovery needs.

Microsoft Corporation implemented a cloud-based solution that moved dev/test and production workloads into Azure and enabled automated disaster recovery for on-premises VMware workloads. The results were significant: DR testing time dropped from a month to two weeks, day-to-day server provisioning fell from two days to two hours, and larger infrastructure setup shrank from two months to 10 days. RMS also reduced operational effort and costs, freeing its team to focus more on customer onboarding, automation, and faster product innovation.
