Reckitt Benckiser empowers employees to work smarter using big data

Reckitt Benckiser, the UK-based consumer goods company behind brands like Dettol and Nurofen, needed a better way to help employees use data to make faster, smarter decisions. Its existing BI approach was difficult to manage, limited in mobile use, and unable to easily combine internal and third-party data, so the company turned to Microsoft Corporation and its Power BI and Azure platform.

Microsoft Corporation helped Reckitt Benckiser build an end-to-end analytics solution using Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Store, Azure HDInsight, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Analysis Services, and Power BI. The new platform was delivered in just six months, reduced complexity and licensing costs, and was paid for with first-year savings. It also gave sales and other frontline teams self-service access to data on smartphones and enabled quicker analysis of store-level performance and product sell-through.
