French national railway company SNCF launched its “Digital for All” initiative to better involve employees in digital solution development and improve productivity. To do that, SNCF adopted Microsoft Corporation’s Power Apps, Power BI, Microsoft Flow, and SharePoint, while also building internal skills through training. The challenge was making digital tools accessible across a large organization of 270,000 employees and turning frontline ideas into useful business apps.
Microsoft Corporation helped SNCF digitize workflows, create employee-built apps, and set up real-time Power BI dashboards to monitor adoption and quality. The result was more than 150 apps in production, used by tens of thousands of employees, plus faster processes, fewer errors, and improved reliability. For example, SNCF reduced failed bogie specifications from a 70% problem rate significantly and quickly deployed a language-support app for drivers, showing measurable operational impact.
