Quick start in online retailing with a shop system on Microsoft Azure

Wirecard AG, an expert in electronic payment solutions, sought to provide small retailers with a simple and professional way to launch an online shop. Their challenge was to offer a preconfigured e-commerce system with integrated payment processing that was easy to deploy, scalable, and cost-transparent for their customers. They partnered with Microsoft Corporation to create this solution using the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Microsoft implemented the solution by creating a Linux-based image of the Magento webshop system on Azure, available through the Azure Marketplace. This preconfigured service included Wirecard's payment processing, allowing retailers to install a complete online shop without any programming knowledge. The results provided users with a quick start in online retailing, cost transparency through Azure's pay-as-you-go model, and the ability to scale internationally using Microsoft's global network of data centers.
