Case Study: Danesfield School achieves improved student performance and teacher recruitment with Microsoft Corporation

A Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Danesfield School Case Study

Professional development drives learning transformation at British school

Danesfield School, a small primary school in the United Kingdom, was struggling to recruit and retain talented teachers while trying to improve student performance. To support its technology-led vision, the school partnered with Microsoft Corporation and used Skype for Business Online along with the Microsoft Educator Community for teacher professional development.

Microsoft Corporation helped Danesfield roll out more classroom computers, build staff confidence with technology, and create a peer-learning culture through “staff champions” and self-paced training. The results were strong: in two years, the school significantly improved Reading, Writing, and Mathematics, reached the top 1% nationally, became a Microsoft Showcase School, and even developed a waiting list of teachers eager to join.
