Caixa Económica Montepio Geral, one of Portugal’s oldest banks, needed a better way to collaborate and share information across 328 branches and more than a dozen central offices. To support its cloud roadmap, the bank turned to Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft Office 365, with a major challenge of getting more than 3,300 employees to embrace new digital tools and ways of working.
Microsoft Corporation, through Microsoft Adoption Services, helped CEMG roll out Office 365 in phases, starting with Outlook and then OneDrive and Skype, supported by training, videos, webinars, and employee ambassadors. The approach drove strong adoption: within a year, 50% of users were on OneDrive and 30% were active on Yammer, improving collaboration, speeding projects, and helping the bank deliver a more consistent customer experience.
