Peterson Disrupts the Forestry Industry with IOT

Peterson, a medium-sized manufacturing company, faced the challenge of needing to modernize its forestry equipment to provide better customer service and minimize machine breakdowns. They sought to move beyond time-consuming manual processes and rudimentary monitoring to harness the power of IoT and cloud computing. To achieve this digital transformation, they partnered with Microsoft and its implementation partner, Mazik Global.

The solution implemented by Microsoft involved deploying Azure IoT to retrofit and build smart capabilities into Peterson’s machinery, enabling real-time performance monitoring and predictive maintenance. This was combined with Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to improve internal CRM, ERP, and remote worker access. The result was the creation of the "Peterson+" program, which drastically improved customer satisfaction by anticipating issues before they occurred, reducing downtime, and providing a secure, integrated platform for data and operations.
