Oryx GTL, a high-tech synthetic fuel plant in Qatar, faced limitations with its server technology that were hampering a project to deliver vital business reports and migrate to the SAP S/4HANA platform. To overcome the challenge of hardware procurement delays, the company turned to Microsoft Corporation and its Microsoft Azure cloud service for a solution.

Microsoft, through its implementation partner, proposed a solution using Azure Virtual Machines to host the SAP HANA environment. This approach allowed Oryx GTL to begin its migration in just 10 days instead of three months, avoiding significant delays. The Microsoft Azure solution provided high uptime, scalability, and flexibility, while the integration of Microsoft Power BI enabled the company to develop insightful reports for management much faster.
